Nylon Insulated Butt Connectors are terminals that are used to mate, connect, or terminate a single wire. The nylon material is more flexible, pliable when crimping and resists heat better than other insulation. The nylon material is also available as transparent, allowing easy inspection of a wire connection. Butt splices can be used in applications that utilize wire to transfer electrical current.
Nylon Insulated Butt Connectors are higher quality wire connectors used to extend, repair, or change an electrical circuit and come in 3 sizes – 22-18 gauge, 16-14 gauge, and 12-10 gauge. The butt connectors is made from tinned copper for high conductivity and is wrapped in a semi-transparent nylon insulation that holds up to higher temperatures and crimping better than vinyl insulated butt splices. Nylon butt splices are perfect for use in automotive electrical systems, as well as other electrical applications including marine and higher voltage systems since they are rated for use in splicing wires that can carry up to 600 volts with a temperature rating of 221°F (105°C). The nylon insulation is also color coded depending on the wire size and can be crimped using any standard insulated electrical wire crimper.
